David A. Nicholson Jr. | Obituaries

David A. “Bud” Nicholson Jr., 81, of Laurel passed away on March 19, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by family. Born on Sept. 28, 1942, to Dave and Eula Nicholson, he graduated from George S. Gardiner High School in 1961. He retired from Coca-Cola after many years. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Snooky; his son David (Lauree); his daughter Nancy (Darin); grandchildren Sara Williams, Amber (Will) Trotter and Tyler Williams; great-grandson Jameson Trotter; brothers Joe (Linda) Nicholson and Neil Nicholson; nephew Ray (Nena) Smith and Joe (Laura) Nicholson; niece Lou Boone; special nieces and caretakers Donna Smith and Judy Smith; niece Rita (Ronnie) Carter; nephew Buddy (Renee) Brannon; niece Laura Leigh Brannon (Wesley) Wheat; great-nephews Josh (Carlee) Seabrook and Brody Smith; great-nieces Megan (Branden) Napier and family; Shae (Todd) Jordan and family, Amber (Brooke) Farmer and family, Caroline Brannon and Erin (Will) Abel and family; and great-nephews Mason and Garrett Wheat.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter Inga Lynn Nicholson; parents Eula (Blackledge) Nicholson and David A. “Dave” Nicholson Sr.; and sister and brother-in-law Christine and Howard Smith.

A memorial service will be at Plainway Baptist Church on Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
