Barry Manilow fans say he needs to 'lay off' plastic surgery but they've got it wrong

Barry Manilow’s NBC Christmas special aired on Monday (December 12) and it’s got some speculating he’s had too much plastic surgery.

The 80-year-old performed some famous festive hits during Barry Manilow’s A Very Barry Christmas, and his face didn’t move a muscle the entire time.

The musician wore a variety of glittery suits for the TV concert which was filmed around five weeks ago at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

People across the United States watched him sing the likes of Copacabana and Looks Like We Made It, but people weren’t actually focussed on the singing.

Everyone had their eyes peeled on Manilow’s face which didn’t seem to change the whole time – stuck in a permanent smile.

There were no forehead wrinkles or crows feet in sight and his face looked extremely plump and shiny. Pretty good for 80, right?

Well, fans are speculating that his youthful look is far from natural – although the star has denied having any work done.

One person wrote on Twitter/X: “80-year old Barry Manilow has had so much plastic surgery, he looks like he’s been AI-generated for his TV Christmas special tonight.”

“Barry Manilow, please lay off the plastic surgery. You’re 80 my guy, just be graceful about it,” said another.

A third person added: “Watching the Barry Manilow Christmas Special on NBC. If he has one more face lift I think his skin will rip open.”

“I love Barry Manilow but the cosmetic surgery needs to stop. He’s becoming a caricature of himself,” someone else wrote.

It comes just days after people were talking about his unmoving face at the annual Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting too.

Star denied plastic surgery rumors a decade ago

The only time the singer has ever addressed the plastic surgery rumors was back in 2014, when he denied going under the knife.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show aged 71, he insisted that his youthful skin was down to great genes.

The chat show host asked him about recent surgery speculation, to which he quipped: “Jonathan, look at me, don’t I look my age?”

“Really, this is what I look like. I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about,” the star continued. “It’s infuriating. This is me at 70. It is. I swear.”

However, he denied the accusations with a huge grin on his face and used a sarcastic tone that hinted otherwise!
