Dua Lipa's 'GTA character' sends Twitter into a meltdown - 'I thought this was Joe Jonas'

A tweet, claiming to have the ‘first look’ of Dua Lipa’s character in the new Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA) has been unveiled, and fans are less than impressed.

The music star has had a busy year and is ending it by becoming a Golden Globe Award show nominee. She has been named on the list for her hit single in Barbie, Dance The Night. Although she’s done it all this year, it looks like appearing in a video game may not be on her list just yet.

An X account, which shares Dua Lipa updates, posted the unconfirmed image of the Houdini singer, and fans of the star and the game can’t cope.

“Why did they draw the most gorgeous woman like THIS?” exclaimed one.

“This is John Travolta what,” claimed another.

One joked: “If Drake and James Charles had a child.”

“I genuinely thought this was Joe Jonas in drag,” said one shocked fan.

Rockstar Games recently announced GTA VI will be dropping in 2025, releasing the first trailer earlier this month. Fans may be pleased to know the ‘Dua Lipa character’ didn’t make an appearance, and we’re not sure if she’ll be heading into Vice City anytime soon. Considering fake and spoof trailers have been dropping this year, it’s likely not a real photo. There has been no news that the singer is actually a part of the game.

It’s not the first time the star has sent social media into a meltdown lately. Last week, the singer posted her number on X telling fans to text her.

However, those who did send a text expecting to get a reply received a link to sign up for Community, a marketing company that texts fans on behalf of celebrities.

The star is nominated for a Golden Globe

Although she just went through a breakup, the 28-year-old is thriving as her hit single from Barbie, Dance The Night, has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Dua also starred in the movie as mermaid, alongside WWE legend, John Cena.

Taking to her Instagram to thank fans, the One Kiss singer wrote: “wow waking up a Golden Globe nomineeeeeee!!! This barbie is so grateful! So happy I get to share this moment with my collaborators for our song “Dance The Night” @carolineailin @iammarkronson @wyattish.

“And so much love to the Greta, Noah, Margot and Ryan on their much-deserved nominations!!! Let’s go Barbie!!!”
